Boeing and Airbus to build the sky after the Farnborough airshow

Aerospace giants Boeing and Airbus have closed deals for over $100 billion worth in orders in the Farnborough International Airshow according to a recent piece published by CNBC. Boeing took the lead over Airbus.

The airspace battle is now taking place in England as Boeing totaled agreements worth in $60 billion, while Airbus signed products by $52 billion at the official listing price.

In the Boeing side, notable buyers were Vietjet Air with the agreement to purchase 100 737 MAX airplanes. Volga DPNER signaled for 34 freighter planes. DHL made a deal to buy 11 freighters and Air Lease Corp that will buy 78 new aircraft.

On the other side, Airbus sold airplanes by $52 billion at list prices. The biggest deal is from an undisclosed customer that bought 80 A320neo jets and a new start-up airline launched by David Neeleman, founder of Jet Blue.

The Boeing Company is trading in consolidation mode following a rally that drove the BA share from 339.28, July 11 low, to trade as high as July 18 high at 361.86.

The unit is trading at highs since June 14 as investors welcomed the airshow in England. Technical conditions for Boeing are bullish, moving averages repointing to the north while momentum is clearly bullish and MACD is suggesting more room for gains.

Airbus is trading in consolidation mode after breaking up the 106.40 break and a peak of 109.10. The unit is currently trading at 106.90.

Technical conditions for Airbus are neutral in the short term but bullish in the long term. Moving averages are pointing to the north, while the uni is overbought, but momentum is showing some signs of exhaustion.

If the share keeps levels above the 106.40, it will see next resistance at highs around 109.10, then the psychological 110.00 level.

To the downside, if the pair breaks below the 106.40, it will find supports at 102.15 and 100.00.
