Trading Platform

ATFX utilizes the most popular online trading platform in the world, MetaTrader 4 (MT4). This platform comes equipped with everything a trader needs to succeed and is very user friendly as well. More than 300 brokerages and banks use this platform worldwide due it’s superiority, sheer number of features, and its familiarity in the investment industry. For instance, the MT4 platform utilizes the MQL4 programming language which allows traders to import or create their own indicators and scripts known as “Expert Advisors” or (EAs). Also, the platform comes with a complete charting package with over 30 charting analysis tools, 30 technical indicators, and 12 chart types. Also, ATFX’s MT4 trading platform supports one-click trading solutions for real-time trading directly from the interactive charts. Traders can place orders in an instant and achieve lightning fast execution speeds. Even more, this platform is fully compatible on mobile devices and is available for download via the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. All in all, ATFX provides a phenomenal trading platform to trade a wide variety of financial assets.

Fees and Commission

ATFX charges all their associated trading fees through the spread rather than charging a commission. The spreads vary from asset to asset and are lowest when trading forex with spreads as low as 1.8 pips for some of the Major currency pairs. Even with zero fee commissions, these spreads are quite high compared with industry standards. As for deposit and withdrawal fees, ATFX does not charge any fees. Overall, the fees imposed by ATFX may be slightly higher than much of the competition but are still competitive enough to be considered.

Security and Fairness

ATFX is a very safe and secure online trading brokerage to deal with. They are regulated by not one but two reputable regulatory authorities which help to ensure the brokers integrity. Also, ATFX utilizes leading data encryption technology on all transactions and conducts strict supervision and checks to ensure the safety of their customers and their personal information. Also, client’s funds are held in segregated bank accounts and are thus protected in the case of insolvency. Additionally, UK members of ATFX are protected for up to £50,000 by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). Overall, ATFX is a very secure trading brokerage and treats all their clients fairly, especially since they only offer one type of trading account.

Support

ATFX clients can only receive customer support via email, and telephone 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. While this is a rather limited number of support options compared with some major brokers, the support via these methods are of high quality. However, most brokers have extensive FAQ pages and education centers where traders can find immense amounts of helpful information. ATFX on the other hand does not have any of these. Overall, the level of customer support offered by ATFX is quite poor compared with much of the competition.

Conclusion

Everything considered, ATFX is a decent online trading brokerage. They feature a fair amount of tradeable assets, but not nearly as many as other top brokers. The MT4 trading platform offered by ATFX is of high quality and features everything a trader needs, but the spreads are higher than most of the competition. As for the customer support, the support representatives are very friendly and professional, but the broker lacks additional options of support. All in all, ATFX is a good online trading brokerage who offers international trading on forex and a select few CFDs on commodities, indices, and precious metals.
