BIST- the Borsa İstanbul, is the sole exchange entity of Turkey. The exchange was founded in 2013 and combined all of the existing markets of the former Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE), the Istanbul Gold Exchange, and the Derivatives Exchange of Turkey. Now all these financial instruments and assets are traded and featured under one large umbrella exchange. As of March 2018, BIST ranks 32nd in terms of market capitalization with a market cap of $174.4 billion. The exchanges shareholders are 49% government of Turkey, 41% IMKB, 5% VOB, 4% IMKB members, 1% IMKB brokers and 0.3% IAB members. The BIST exchange compiles all the market share data into various charts so that traders and investors can perform extensive technical analysis to gain a better understanding of the markets.
