NASDAQ Exchange Charts

Nasdaq Composite (Ticker Symbol: IXIC)
The Nasdaq Composite is a stock market index of the stocks and securities listed on the Nasdaq stock market. This index is among the three most followed indices in the American stock market along with the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Average. The Nasdaq Composite is primarily composed of information technology companies and has seen substantial growth since their inception in 1971.

Today, there are approximately 3000 securities listed on the Nasdaq Composite index which is far more than most other stock market indices. In order to be listed on the Nasdaq Composite index, the securities must be listed on the Nasdaq stock market and have a security type of either American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), Common Stock, Limited Partnership Interests, Ordinary Shares, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), Shares of Beneficial Interest (SBIs), or Tracking Stocks. Securities which are not included in the index are closed-end funds, convertible debentures, exchange traded funds, preferred stocks, rights, warrants, units and other derivative securities.
Nasdaq-100 (Ticker Symbol: NDX)
The Nasdaq-100 is a stock market index made up of the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange. The index was created in 1985 and includes 104 equity securities which have been weighted based on their market capitalizations. The companies listed on the Nasdaq-100 index are not restricted to US based companies and do not include any financial companies. As well, listed companies must meet specific standards laid out by Nasdaq, see them below.

• Must be listed exclusively on the Nasdaq stock exchange in either the Global Select or Global Market tiers.
• Must be publicly offered on an established US market for at least three months.
• Must have an average daily volume of 200,000 shares.
• Must periodically deliver quarterly and annual reports.
• Can not be in the proceedings of bankruptcy.
