While Alcoa owns the major share, it controls day to day operations which includes
- Bauxite mining
- Extraction of aluminum oxide
- and the smelting of pure aluminum
AWAC has mines all over the world including
- Western Australia
- Brazil
- Spain
- and Texas, U.S.A.
The system follows procedures to restore the forests after mining by saving all topsoil taken in the initial process.
