The company also explores for, produces, and sells natural gas and crude oil; develops gas infrastructures; and transmits, stores, and distributes natural gas, as well as engages in trading activities in electric power, gas, and commodities in general. Edison S.p.A. operates 110 concessions, permits, and licenses; 248.4 million barrels of oil equivalent reserves; 1 LNG terminal, 3 gas storage centers, 4 gas pipeline projects, and 80 kilometers of high pressure gas pipelines; and 3,559 kilometers of low and medium pressure gas pipelines. In addition, it markets energy efficiency services and environmental solutions, principally to industrial clients. The company was formerly known as Montedison SpA and changed its name to Edison S.p.A. in 2002. Edison S.p.A. was founded in 1884 and is headquartered in Milan, Italy.
