Safran SA is a multinational company based in Paris, France who is a leader in the manufacturing of propulsion systems as well as rocket and aircraft engines.
Safran is separated into 3 segments:
- Aerospace
- Aircraft
- and Defense
The Aerospace division makes engines and turbines for civil and military markets. The Aircraft division makes landing gear, wheels and carbon brakes, aircraft engine nacelles and airborne power electronics. The Defense division makes systems and equipment for inertial navigation and other defense applications to be used on military transport and combat aircraft, helicopters, warships, armored vehicles and artillery systems.
Many of these divisions are managed through subsidiaries and Safran continues acquiring smaller companies and integrating them into their company’s plans and goals.
